Position Summary
The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards. This position requires strong technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to modern vehicle technologies while delivering reliable, professional service to customers.
Responsibilities And Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems
- Inspect vehicles to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns and document findings
- Perform repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to:
- Engine and driveline systems
- Steering and suspension components
- Brake systems
- Electrical and electronic systems
- HVAC systems
- Preventive maintenance services
- Utilize diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and service information systems effectively
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and company service guidelines
- Test vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
- Communicate repair needs, recommendations, and timelines to the Service Manager or Advisor
- Maintain accurate repair orders, inspection reports, and documentation
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technologies
- Assist with shop operations as needed and work collaboratively with team members

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures
Tools and Equipment
- Must supply basic hand tools appropriate for the position
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment, lifts, and diagnostic tools
